Doralee
Billings is an entrepreneur and innovator with more than
25 years of corporate experience in bookkeeping and office and financial
management. With a life-long love of dressmaking, she established
her own clothier business in 1996, specializing in the creation of
custom-designed dresses and wedding gowns.
The first challenge she faced was to find an accurate way of pricing
her work. She discovered that an adaptable pricing system to fit
all types of garments simply did not exist for the custom clothier
business. Doralee soon developed her own pricing method - comprehensive,
simple to use, and one that provides for profit evaluation upon
project completion.
Doralee also found
that this detailed-oriented business required her to be highly organized,
not only in the process of designing and creating gowns, but in
the bookkeeping side of her business as well.
Working through her
own practical experience in dressmaking, and drawing on her extensive
office and financial background, Doralee created SOS
/ Small Office Solutions, a company specializing in small
business planning and office organization. Through SOS, she developed

an easy-to-use system of bookkeeping, tax-recording, project management
and office organization tailored to the needs of custom clothiers
like herself.
